Bill McHarg - BEC,FRICS,FAPI,FREI,LAND ECONOMIST

Bill McHarg has been providing professional services in the Melbourne Commercial property market for 4 decades.|

He is a Batchelor of Economics (Monash University) a Property Valuer, Land Economist, Licenced Estate Agent & Auctioneer.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors, a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute, & a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Australia. He is a past Councillor of the Victorian Division of theProperty Council of Australia, & a former director of the Green Building Council of Australia.

He co-founded Glynn Lynch & McHarg P/L. one of the three foundation practices of Colliers International, now one of the World's largest property services organisations, currently with over 400 offices worldwide.

Bill has been primarily involved with commercial property investments & in particular with their conception, formulation & development. In recent years he has been involved with the initiation of such major projects as Grocon's QV development in Lonsdale Street Melbourne, Australand's Freshwater Place development on Southbank & the refurbishment & further development of 459 Collins Street Melbourne.

Additionally he has been involved with major city sales including the $66m sale of the former Age head office in Spencer Street Melbourne, & in late 2009 he advised Barristers Chambers Ltd on the $54m acquisition of Owen Dixon Chambers West, at 525 Lonsdale Street Melbourne.

In recent years he has also been involved with high density residential developments commencing with HM@S Port Melbourne & following with The Mark at 325 Collins Street, Melbourne, and Hero Apartments at 114 Russell Street, Melbourne amongst others.

Bill is a conservationist, having actively campaigned against the indiscriminate demolition of heritage buildings in the 1980s, & more recently has acted as an industry advocate for sustainable building, design, development & management.
